Miscellaneous Stuff

We love partying with our neighbors, Dallas & Patti, Leo & Leah, they are all so awesome.  We get together at each other’s house  during the year to get caught up on what we’ve all been up to.

We spent the evening together on New Year’s Eve and had a lovely prime rib dinner at Leo & Leah’s.

The guys could NOT get the bottle of champagne open no matter how hard they tried.  Leo finally got some pliers and that did the trick… LOL

Babysitting 2 Weekends in October 2013

Charlie & Lizzy spent the weekend at our house and we had a lot of fun.  We were very busy making crafts, playing hide & go seek, playing at the park and going to Bishops Pumpkin Farm.  The weekend just zipped by!

The kids made Thanksgiving cards.IMG_0493

While Charlie was drawing a picture, check out Lizzy in the background trying on Papa’s tennis shoes… LOLIMG_0495

At the pumpkin farm the kids enjoyed petting the animals, cheering at the sheep and pig races, climbing big tires, riding on the train, picking out their own pumpkins and much more.IMG_0498IMG_0500IMG_0505IMG_0508IMG_0510IMG_0531IMG_0534

The kids made these adorable crafts and they were so proud of their accomplishments.  They did a really great job and couldn’t wait to show their parents.
Below the kids crafts were made from egg cartons.  Lizzy painted each section a different color, glued them to paper covered cardboard & added pipe cleaners for the stems which created a really cute bouquet for her Mom.  Charlie created a bat from the egg carton & glued on eyes.  He used a leaf punch for the bat and added eyes.  The both turned out adorable.  It’s so much fun creating stuff that’s laying around the house.  I continually save items that I would normally toss so the kids can make stuff.  Next on the list is a bird house made from a small milk carton and a piggy bank made from a round cheese container… can’t wait for the 4 little ones to make them!

The following weekend we babysat Joey & Alex and it was just before Halloween.  The kids were so excited to get dressed up at their school party and they looked adorable.

The following day we took them to a pumpkin patch.  They enjoyed running & running & running around, as well as taking a pony ride.  We only had one full day with them, so no time for crafts during this short weekend.

“Trick Or Drink” Party

We hosted this party with one of our neighbors, but it involved 6 couples.  It was a progressive party where we started at one end of the block and moved to the next house and so on.  We had hors d'oeuvres and spirits at each house, with the last house serving dessert & coffee.

We all had so much FUN!!!  We’ll make it an annual event and tweak it each year to make it even better.

Do you think these guys are having fun yet??  This was at our house, which was the last stop before the coffee house.

The clown couldn’t quite make it to the coffee & dessert house, so she took a little cat nap at our house before moving on.
