Although the weather was unusually cold (as you can tell by the way we were dressed), at least it didn’t snow like last year!  We enjoyed another great weekend, tasted lots of good wine and the food was great as always.  After wine tasting on Saturday, we ate dinner at Peter & Kaija’s, then on Sunday they came to our house for dinner.  A very fun weekend and always great company spending it with the Schnell’s.

Spectacular Double Rainbow in Lincoln

A storm came through Lincoln on March 31st and this beautiful double rainbow appeared at 5pm for about 15 minutes… it’s was nothing less than spectacular.  I took the first two photos from our back yard.  I sent it into KCRA and they published it on their web site.

Another KCRA viewer sent in this photo of the rainbow at the Twelve Bridges exit off Hwy 65, which is the exit you take to get to our house.

Another viewer sent this one in from Sun City Lincoln Hills, which is adjacent to our neighborhood.

BACK YARD
After owning our new home for a year, we finally made the time to clear out an area for the BBQ.  We removed rock for a 4’ x 8’ area, added sand, leveled it, put down weed barrier, and installed paver stones.  Next week we’ll be getting quotes to run the gas line from inside the kitchen to the new BBQ area.  It will be nice to use the BBQ once again, especially after using the Little Weber all this time.
FRONT YARD
This is the entrance to our house with a big round container that had some plants that are almost dead.  We finally got around to pulling out the dead stuff, hooking up the drip system, adding soil, and planting some new plants.  We also installed a drip system to the vases we bought a few months ago and added some plants.  It will take a while before the plants get big enough to look good, but it sure looks better than it did before.  Slow but sure, we’re getting there.

Surprise Visit–April 21, 2012

We enjoyed a surprise visit from Whitney & Paula.  They live in Oregon, so when she called me last week and asked if we were available on Saturday, I was quite surprised that they were going to be in town for the day!  They flew out on Saturday to pick up a car for their son and drove back on Sunday.  We opened the Almeida B&B with open arms and had a wonderful time visiting with them.  Although it was a VERY short visit, it was so good to see them again.  We got up at 4:45am to make breakfast so they would have full tummies on their long journey home.

Greeting Cards from March

A couple of these cards are from my monthly ‘Technique"’ class where I learn a so much.  Some of the others are from our annual ‘Stamp Camp’ where a bunch of ladies get together and make these beautiful cards.  I learn so much from my StampinUp demonstrator Janice, she is the best… Thank you Janice!!
