Almeida B&B’s Slumber Party

Five of my girlfriends drove up from the Bay Area to visit us for the weekend and we HAD A BLAST to say the least.  They were anxious to see our new house for the first time.  The Almeida B&B welcomed Sheila, Denise, Marcia, Julene & Cynthia.
Parker and Cha Cha joined in the fun too.

If this tells you anything, we started our party with wine and beer at noon, only then did we proceed to give them the official tour of our house.
After the tour we had lunch and hung out in the backyard and talked.

Parker thinks he’s a person… too cute

We decided to take the little guys for a walk and prepare for our next round… cocktail hour!

Hank was wonderful… he not only helped me prepare for the party, he was our bartender, server and dishwasher.  He’s a keeper for sure!

Cha Cha was in seventh heaven playing with Parker and experiencing all the news smells of a different house.

We enjoyed a great dinner of parmesan chicken with homemade marinara sauce, parmesan garlic bread, spinach salad, spaghetti
and of course lots of wine.
This was the menu for the weekend.

What would a girly slumber party be without dancing?!?!?!  Cynthia and Sheila were doing the “happy” dance.
A little hip action
Wow… I guess the Almeida B&B was a big hit with the girls… just check out the comments from our friends.  We think we’ll have to keep this B&B open for a long time…. who’s next?????
“What a wonderful weekend. Words can't express how thankful I am to you and Hank for spoiling us in such a generous, magnificent way.  Your home is beautiful.  I'm trying to get over getting lost but thankful you have enough bathrooms that I was able to find one in time”.
“THANKS to both of you for the warm, generous, fun hospitality! What a wonderful home you are creating. We all had a blast and look forward to Phase II Summertime Fun! You guys are the best! Parker says to particularly say Thank You for including him in the invite, too.”
“Many thanks to you and Hank for the wonderful time. You made this such a special and fun weekend. You have a lovely home that's as warm as the two of you. You are the best host ever. Now you have started something and we'll be back soon”.
“Thank you both for being so kind and generous! Letting me bring Cha Cha to the sleep over meant so much to me and John.  I am looking forward to the summer BBQ. Love you guys!”

Home Improvement Project

One of our major projects this winter was to design and build out our closets in the master bedroom.  They only had one wire rack on each wall which we could hang our clothes.  Hank wanted drawers and shelves.  He took down the wire racks and cut them to accommodate the new design.  He added shelving, shoe racks, drawers, and some open areas to put stuff.  It turned out really good.  I still have to paint the walls where we spackled.  We are currently working on my closet and it should be done within the next few weeks; I’ll post it later.

More Cards

I have the BEST demonstrator in the world, she is awesome!  I learn so much from her.  If anyone wants to learn how to stamp, make cards, scrapbooks or learn more techniques, contact Janice.

Babysitting Joey & Alex, February 2012

We babysat the kids for a few days in February and we had a really great time with them.  Joey loves touring model houses, so we took the kids one day.  Joey was so excited to see every nook and cranny in the houses.  Here he is on a swinging bench in one of the back yards.  He also bonded with the sales woman and thanked her after his ‘tour’… LOL

We also took the kids to a place called Super Franks in Dublin.  It’s a big building with tons of stuff for kids of all ages.  Most of you know that I always have a camera in my hand and I couldn’t believe I forgot my camera!!!  These pictures were taken with my cell phone, so they are not that clear.  Needless to say Joey did not want to leave!  He kept asking for 1 more minute, then 30 more seconds… too funny.
