Misc. Stuff

DIY Logo with Border
When we babysat Charlie & Lizzy in mid June, we had an idea to make a corn hole bean bag game.  It turned out to be a great project for the kids.  Lizzy & I made the bags, while the boys made the board.

Lizzy was responsible for weighing the beans and putting them into the bags, then I sewed the bags.

Papa guided Charlie through the safety and building of the board.

Of course that also includes the clean-up that none of us like to do.

And here’s the almost finished product.

We wanted each of the kids (which also included Joey & Alex) to have a corner and create their own design.  I gave them the paint colors of their choice and away they went.

Three weeks later when the boys arrived for Papa’s party, it was their turn to create their corners.

Here’s the final board… so precious and hopefully it will be a family hand-me-down.

We had each child sign their name with their age and the date on the back.

Then the bean bag game challenge began!!

Papa had another great project for Charlie, and that was to make his own tool box.  Like the bean bag board, Charlie cut the wood himself, learned how to use wood glue and clamps.

He was very proud of what he made and should be because it turned out awesome.

This big pot outside our front door became a big problem in the winter from the rain.  It did not have drainage holes so the water had nowhere to go except stay in the pot and it killed our water logged plant.  We took out all the dirt, drilled drainage holes, ran a drip system up the middle, put the dirt back in, planted a new bush, and added river rock around the base as an accent.  Hopefully this will work!!

Kaia Logo

My coach and mentor Denise whom I love, left Kaia to pursue other opportunities.  So we honored her on her last day and took her out to lunch.  It was so sad to see her go, but I wish her the best of luck in her endeavors.

Hank & I attended the Senior U.S. Open and took the “shuttle” from Cal Expo to the course.  The shuttles were actually school buses.  I’m only posting this because at 60 and 70 years of age, this is the first time we’ve been on an actual school bus… LOL

We went golfing a couple days ago with our neighbor Leo. I had to post this photo because look how they are dressed.  When we picked up Leo they just happened to have the same “outfit” on.  Women dress alike but men do not do this, so of course I had to give them a very bad time about it and I had a good laugh.
