We went back to Jamaica and spent 2 wonderful weeks there. We wanted to experience 2 new resorts, so the first week we stayed at Couples Tower Isle in Ocho Rios . There was not too much going on at this particular resort, but we still enjoyed the nice weather and lounging around.
See that island behind Hank, that’s the “nude” island complete with a swim up bar, lounges, bathrooms, and a lookout tower. On the right you can also see the front tip of the boat that takes the sun bathers to/from the island all day long. A person must bare it all once on the island; the only time you don’t have to be nude is if it’s a wedding party. Needless to say we did NOT go to the island.
Here’s the booze cruise catamaran which we took part in, of course.
Here’s the swim up bar and pool where we hung out on most days.
The second week we stayed at a beautiful resort called Secrets Wild Orchid in Montego Bay. We got upgraded to a great room right off the pool. We could relax on our patio or walk out to the pool & swim up bar just beyond on room. Our room was centrally located on the property so it wasn’t too far to walk anywhere.
The pools were spectacular, the entertainment was awesome, food to die for, the property was lovely… life is too short so we’re enjoying it!!
The resort put on a huge 4th of July party for all the guests (considering most people were from the USA) and it was GREAT. They had a parade, a high school marching band, food, entertainment, sand sculptures and more. You’ll see more photos of that day when you view the slide show
It only rained one day and it was a huge 4 hour storm, so why not go to the bar and drink!
We also saw some great sunsets
This is the famous “jerk chicken” guy. Every day he would push his cart around the complex and serve people. You can see all the people in line to get this chicken, everyone LOVED IT!!!
He cooks it right there, chops it up, and serves it always with a smile on his face.
This group won the sand sculpting contest. They did a great job on this mermaid. Of course the girl was gorgeous and they ended up decorating the mermaid with flowers and seaweed.
This was our swim up bar near our room, there were always lots of people having fun around the pool. The employees got the guests to get into these big clear balls and try to ‘walk’ on the water… it was hysterical!!! Check out the video below.
This steel band was awesome and very entertaining, we really enjoyed listening to them.
These are the sheep the City of Lincoln uses to keep the weeds down. Every year during the summer the sheep are transferred from area to area and this photo was taken right outside the gates of community. They are fenced in and herded along to the next area by dogs. Lots of people stop to watch and take pictures. This year I saw 2 new borns, only 1 and 2 days old (as the guy told me).
